PRESCRIPTION ROZEREM

Rozerem is a prescription insomnia medication that targets the normal sleep-wake cycle by selectively binding to MT1 and MT2 receptors in the body's master clock. It acts by stimulating receptors for melatonin in the person’s brain. Melatonin and its receptors control the circadian rhythm of the body, which in turn, controls the sleep/wake cycle. Unlike many drugs used for treating insomnia, Rozerem is not addictive, and it is not a controlled substance. Rozerem also does not cause withdrawal symptoms or rebound insomnia when it is stopped.

DOSAGE OF ROZEREM

Only one tablet of 8 mg Rozerem is recommended per day that to before 30 minutes of bedtime. Rozerem should not be taken after heavy meal because fat increases its absorption from the intestine.

USAGE OF ROZEREM

The new drug Rozerem works differently compared to other sleeping pills on the market. Rozerem has fewer side effects and is indicated for longterm use. United States DEA has not classified Rozerem as a controlled substance. Rozerem has received approval from the US Food and Drugs Administration for wide marketing of the product. Rozerem has not been associated with effects on balance and memory, unlike other sleeping medicines—Rozerem does not work in areas of the brain that control those functions. Other prescription sleep medicines may affect not only sites in the brain that are involved in sleep, but also those that are not—including sites that are associated with balance and memory. Rozerem is a registered trademark of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
